Environment
Environmental and economic vitality highly depend on availability of water in the region.

Continental climate, high vaporability (up to 1,700 millimeters per year), insufficient and irregular precipitations (150-00 millimeters average), very hot summers (up to 49°Ñ) make agriculture impossible without man-made irrigation.

Consequently salt tends to accumulate in soil since water is used not only for irrigation but also for flushing.

Intensive economic activity and repeated use the river flow in the Aral Sea region resulted in drastic deterioration of the surface and ground water. This caused extreme environment conditions and treat to population’s health.
